We will be rethinking things for the next group of pigs that come to the ranch. Nose rings and pens away from the goats are a must. Hot wire and stick training are probably needed. A week of eating dinner in the trailer- for sure!
Jeff took the pigs to the butcher today. It is always sad- but having Jeff take them made it a lot more bearable. Having them act like crazy pigs- that helped ease the trip too. Still, the process isn't easy- but knowing my fam will not be eating hormone and antibiotic "enriched" pork- from pigs raised in terrible confined conditions... if you are going to eat pork then this is the most humane and nutritious/ healthiest way to do so.
