Easter egg hunting-
Jake is five and learning to read. He points at a picture in a zoo book and says, "Look Mama! It's a frickin' elephant!"
Deep breath... "What did you call it?"
"It's a frickin' Elephant, Mama! It says so on the picture!"
...and so it does...
" A f r i c a n Elephant "
Hooked on phonics! Ain't it wonderful?
Mackenzie has created her own club. We aren't sure of the specifics, or who is actually in the club- but we do know there *is* a club.
During her school break this morning, she made posters and hung them up around the house. Sometimes I think she learns more during her play time than she does during her official "school time.
Everyone has to be quiet. If you are kid has to go the the bathroom you do not have to take him. I will take them. The is every Friday. Little kids go in the baby room. The big kid room is the little kid room.
A kid up to this height can sign up. A kid this big can sign up.
Our family participated in yet another one of Mackenzie's 4-H parades. This makes parade #3. It is def. an experience. Mackenzie loves it though and I love to watch Jeff react to everything. He is a good sport. I laugh so hard though watching and listening to him. He is not a goat fan- he was determined not to have anything to do with them this parade. We even brought Beetle so that he had an excuse. He ended up sitting next to a kid though who had his goat buddy from the last parade- and the goat ended up sharing a hay bale as seat with him!
He referred to the float as a "Rolling Petting Zoo".
The donkey ended up riding on the trailer!
Here is Cambrie giving her momma kisses!
It has been difficult to find time to post. Cambrie is on the go constantly and wants to hit the pc whenever she is around it. Oh, remember the good ole days when I got to post every time she nursed.
I redid Mackenzie's room. I still need to make head boards for the beds. I am using a picket fence for it. Here are a few pictures of it...
This is art work (by Mackenzie and Mom) that is between the closet and door to her room).
I got this idea from a free organizational ebook. It is a bucket with a tool thing around it. We keep all of her art supplies in it.
