Where does time go, really!?!  I can't believe summer is gone. I am embarrassed to say I think we only went to the pool like 5 times. Gosh darn!

For over a year, Mackenzie has wanted to show a goat at a goat show. At first, I wasn't even sure how you showed a goat (honestly, still not quite sure). We wanted to wait til her goats were a little older with built up immune systems before exposing them to all the germs of other goats. They finally turned of age and we signed Mackenzie up for the State Fair and State 4-H Goat Show.

I won't go into all the details- but it is a lot work!  The end result was so worth it though. Mackenzie was completely in her element. She loved it- she is good at it! It was such a blessing to hear so many people say nice things about her and her goats. I can never be accused of living vicariously through Mackenzie (especially with this whole goat thing). There are times when I wish she was as passionate as she is about these goats toward anything else. I have been involved with different activities (dance, gymnastics, soccer) where you just notice a child (or person) that stands out.  Today, Mackenzie was that person. I am so happy I got to see it and help her achieve a goal.

My parents surprised her by coming in for her first show. She was completely surprised. They were troopers. :)

I am still deciding which pictures to purchase from the show, so you will see lots of copyrighted stamped pictures until I decide- then I will remove em.

She won money! A purdy hefty amount too for an 8 year old. Her and Shirley (not Grandma, a goat) won 2nd place in Costume contest as Thing 1 and Thing 2.

She got lots of ribbons- Shirley won a first and second (in addition to the costume contest), Louise won a first and 4th, Janie won 3rd, Daisy(Cambrie showed her) won a first, Carbon won a first, and Truffle won a first and second and was the State 4-H Junior Reserve Champion. :)
