Today is the official get caught up day for JD Ranch! While I probably should be starting with the kitchen, I am starting here instead (much more fun).
We have another new addition to the ranch-
This is Louisiana Star, Mackenzie new *show* goat kid. She is very well bred and came from... Louisiana!
At first she was a little confused about who her new momma was. It reminded me of the cartoon where the egg hatched and the little chick looked up and thought Elmer Fudge was his momma. When we got the goat out of the crate, Cambrie was the first person she saw. From that point on, she was glued to Cambrie.
Mary had a little lamb Cambrie had a little goat...
This didn't go over well with her sister...
After a few bottle feedings (from Mackenzie) Louisiana is starting to figure out who the momma is supposed to be. :)
Poor thing, she has hollered so much she is hoarse now.
In other not too exciting news...
We have a flock of sheep (about 50) wandering the *neighborhood*. Gives it a European feel when people stop on the road, blocked by sheep. :)
Here is the 2010 garden spot. This year's garden will be smaller but still kid themed.
Here is happy Cambrie, dressed appropriately for cold weather.
Speaking of cold weather...earlier this month it was pretty darn chilly!
Another picture with warm clothes on :)
Our first Christmas in Texas, my Aunt Sharon bought us a margarita ornament. Unfortunately, Cambrie has taken a liking to it. She calls it her coffee. It came off the tree numerous times in December and has been unpacked from the ornament stash several times this month. I am overdue putting up the Christmas stuff.
Like my chandelier? :)

I am so behind on updating the site. :( I am even behind on cooking, cleaning, laundry, farm chores- I still have Christmas decorations out.
We finally got our Dutch Belted cows delivered today. Here are Gracie Belle and Callie Moo-
More catching up later...
