More snow coming down and more expected throughout the night. It is beautiful! I am glad that we do not have to be anywhere though- I hate to drive on ice. Mackenzie is a little stir crazy. She is itching to get out and try her new bike out. I think I have a bike path worn down in our home; she has ridden in a big circle through the family room, dining room, and kitchen.

Christmas pictures...
These are in no particular order. Here is Jeff trying out Mackenzie's new bike she received from Santa. :)

When he wasn't busy popping wheelies in the kitchen, he was making Christmas dinner. Yum, yum! He made apple and pumpkin pies, turkey, stuffing, mac-n-cheese from scratch, and (pictured below) a sweet potato casserole. There was a minor set back; a casserole pan exploded on top of the stove, putting a layer of glass over all the side dishes. The sweet potato casserole was the only one not affected. It was delish!

We were blessed with significant snow Christmas Eve. We tried to make snowballs and a snowman but the snow wouldn't stick.

We bought the Roo several art books. She has been busy working on faces and different animals. She loves to draw but isn't interested in going to lessons. She wants to work independently with books she has selected on Amazon.

Beetle Bailey- he is turning out to be a pretty good little dog. Cute too!

Cambrie- busy opening a gift. She is wearing a gift she opened earlier (a Dora bathing suit from her Grandma Hagan). BTW, she has worn it everyday since. She has it on right now.

This is Cambrie before she opened the bathing suit. It was the last time she has wore her warm jammies...

Check out Mackenzie's new Heelies (shoes with wheels built in the heel of the shoe). She has wanted a pair forever!

The staple Cambrie smile. :) I don't think it is as painful as it looks.

The little swimsuit model... :)

Assessing the suit...

Mackenzie received a very pretty doll from her Grandma Daniels. :)

Here she is opening it-

I have mentioned in previous posts that she has her father's sense of style. :)
We all have matching aprons.
Art books make her smile!
Mackenzie, modeling her new dress. Unfortunately, it is a bit short. :( She still loves it though!
Lil' motorcycle rider..
Super Dad! He can even fix a pony tail! This requires skill, especially with Cambrie. She is VERY particular about her hair. It cannot be pulled up "high" and loose hanging hair is not allowed. We have a 3 perfect
pony tail attempt limit. After the 3rd meltdown and redo demand, she is done. :)
Christmas morning! :)

I can't find the cord to upload pictures. I guess I will work on some of the pictures I already have on file.
Christmas was wonderful. It was such a blessing to have snow on Christmas. It was also nice to not have to go out in it (except to take care of critters).
We are laying low today; enjoying family time and breaking in some of those Christmas presents. Santa brought me the John Deer DS game. You are given a small piece of land with a little bit of money. You build your farm from there. After a few hours of playing it has made me think on such things as "What is the point?" and "When is enough enough?". Good questions that transfer into real life as well. As the new year approaches, I think a little deeper. :)
We really enjoyed watching the movie "Up". It is an adult/ kid movie (both will enjoy it on different levels.)
I am off to work on file pictures. :)
God Bless!
ETA- here are the pictures! These were taken the 22nd or 23rd...
Jeff wore this shirt when he was little. :) I have to dig out pictures of him in it.
The life of a chicken at this place; being carried around by a 2 year old. Guess it could be worse...

Happy CHRISTmas Eve!!! What a happy happy day! Jeff is at home, not working...well, not working on the pc and phone but working in kitchen. I did not know what a fabulous baker he was (or would become) when I married him. That would have been reason #731 on why I married him if I would have known. Total package material, let me tell ya!
Anyways, he has baked an apple and a pumpkin pie and made puppy chow thus far. Tomorrow, I am sure he will make a delicious dinner as well. AND he cleans up. Yep, I told he is THE DEAL!
Oh, and he did laundry too. Wow! I am starting to wonder if he did anything wrong? Maybe he forgot to get me a Christmas present? Hmmm......
In addition to the Christmas music playing in the background and the wonderful cooking, baking, cleaning husband, it is snowing outside! We have a surprise white Christmas. Snow was not in the forecast when I went to sleep last night.. This a nice day.
I want to get in bed, eat the wonderful things Jeff made, watch movies and photoshop.
Here are a few pictures from this past week. The temperatures have been in the 70s and the sun has been shining.
Jeff took these too.
God Bless!

Jeff busted out the paint when I went to pick up dinner. What a great dad! Here are the artists hard at work-

Here is part of a conversation on our way to see the nativity...
Mackenzie: So, Cambrie, do you want go see baby Jesus?
Cambrie: NO!
Mackenzie: Then you need to stay home, light 8 candles, and celebrate Happy Hu-wanka day and no Christmas presents for you!
She changed her mind about Jesus. So much, she got mad when Mary wouldn't let her hold baby Jesus, even though she said she'd be careful.
Pictures coming soon- another neat experience!

Relaxing warm weekend... :)

December 11, 2009
Still pretty cold here...there is a warm front coming though and we should hit 70 on Sunday. The winter clothing I ordered earlier this week arrived today. Unfortunately, we had several key pieces that didn't fit. I'll reorder tonight....
Mackenzie had a *goat* lesson and loved it. She came home and worked with Elvis. She really loves that goat.
God Bless!

Christmas cards going out tomorrow, the house is decorated, and the UPS will be delivering almost daily (I did almost all my shopping online). I am tired. :)
Guess who jumped in my trailer the other night and became an early Christmas present to Mackenzie?
Do you see the resemblance?
Here is the *picture of the day*. It is one of her better ones-

Dad is home! :)
December 4, 2009
Another cold day. It's Friday and, even though I am not going to a full time job, Friday is still a fun day. :) It is the is the last day of Cambrie's steroid treatments and Jeff is coming home from a week long trip in O-town. The house is almost presentable and pizza is for dinner with a movie and cookies afterward. Agh... :)
Here is little Cambrie in between outfits. I love her smile. :)
Don't they look cuddley?
Mackenzie is going to start her own part of the website. I am going to change the Cowgirl link to Cowgirl Kenzie. She going to do a farm report and post a picture a few times a week. She is also doing to do presentations and interviews. She is excited (and so am I).
Have a terrific weekend! God Bless!
December 3, 2009
The snow melted yesterday but it is still pretty chilly. There wasn't enough sun yesterday to charge up the gate opener- it wouldn't shut when I got the mail this morning. Hopefully the sun will shine enough today to help me close it tonight. I like to keep it shut in case horses bust out of the their stalls. This has happened twice last week and a number of times before that. Guess I didn't do such a great job building stall doors. :(
We have one more day to go of steroids and are down to 3 breathing treatments a day. She is the power slugger when on the predisone. I hate that stuff. Breathing is important though, so we shall continue.
Here are the rock stars this morning-
Cambrie is taking a picture of me with her sister's princess camera. As you may have guessed, I still haven't put the summer clothes away.
Here are 3 sketches Mackenzie drew in the last 24 hours. The camera is broke. It was really hard to focus on the picture. I had to try to darken in photoshop, that is why they may look funky.
Speaking of photoshop, I over-photoshopped my waistline on our Christmas card. Opps.
My mom bought this potty cover for us last Christmas. I had completely forgot about until I unpacked the Christmas things this year. Isn't he cute?
December 2, 2009
Look what we woke up to this morning-:)
Mackenzie skipped breakfast and immediately went out to play.
Cambrie thought the snow was "ew" and opted to stay inside. She is very independent and has been dressing herself lately. Unfortunately, she is picking out warm weather clothes and throws a fit if you try to change her. I need to just pack those clothes up and put them out of sight.
She bad a pretty bad breathing issue on Monday. We ended up spending the afternoon in the Dr.'s office. We are doing breathing treatments every 2-4 hours (starting to go longer) and are on a steroid til Friday. The steroid makes her a bit mean (well, meaner than the usual mean). She made her sister cry about 5 times and the dog yelp twice- and that was only yesterday. Hopefully that will stop when we get off the steroid. The breathing treatments will continue though indefinitely.
The goats have a male visitor visiting. He (Hildalgo) is Elvis's 1/2 brother I think.
He is more interested in hay than the girls though. Hopefully that will change soon.
We have a couple of birdhouses and feeders on the tree outside the dining room table. We all enjoy watching the birds. Beetle included-
Here is Roo's most recent drawing/ book-
She isn't taking classes right now (her choice). She draws at least an hour a day. We go through a lot of paper. :)
Nap time! God Bless!
