Getting ready for Christmas!

November 25, 2010

Happy Thanksgiving! I got out my old scrapbooks this morning and took a trip down Memory Lane. I wanted to share some of the memories we've made over the last 12 years.

Jeff is taking care of dinner :) :) :) I know it will be great. He had a couple of assistants helping him out-

November 2010-

How in the world can it be November 21st?!?!

We wrapped up Cambrie's soccer and Mackenzie has one more outdoor game left to play. Homeschool co-op has finished up for the semester. I didn't sign Cambrie back up for gymnastics this session-  she misses it though so I need to get her back there asap. The weather has been beautiful. We've spent a lot of time outside.

Jeff defended his PhD. proposal a couple of weeks ago. I was very impressed with his presentation. Hopefully he will finish the program in March.

We rejoined the Aledo 4-H group. We were involved with this group before moving out to the boonies. It is a pretty good drive in (like everything else) so we thought we'd try a club closer. We ran into the group at the State show. They had a lot of participation- so we decided to go back. We've been very busy ever since. We helped decorate a Christmas Tree last weekend.

Almost all the goats are bred. We should have lots of baby goats starting in March. We are preparing for all the milk by learning to make soap. Hopefully it can develop into a successful little business for the girls.

We missed church this morning so Jeff led a Bible study for the girls. He does a pretty good job. :)

On a sad note, Jeff''s grandma (GiGi) passed away this past week. She is in a better place, reunited by lots of loved ones.  Several years ago we all lived together with Jeff's parents while our house (in Florida) was being built. I would drive her over to Deland to visit her daughter Denise. On the trip, I heard many wonderful stories about her life growing up. She could tell a great story! She also loved baby dolls. She would entertain Mackenzie (or Mackenzie would entertain her) for hours playing with baby dolls. Lots of great memories. I am so thankful for that wonderful season in my life.

I dug up these pictures of the happy times-

God Bless!
